Our verdict
AJC Software is a Windows backup tool sold as a free plan, a 30-day trial and a one-time purchase. It suits small Windows offices that want a cheap permanent license for file backup, and sits wrong for teams needing help beyond email or a machine on another platform.

Pros and cons
Pros
- A free version is offered, and the free trial runs 30 days, so both routes into the backup tool stay open before you pay.
- The model is a free plan, a free trial and a one-time purchase, so the paid plan is bought rather than renewed at a higher rate.
- The paid plan starts at $19, a low one-off entry for backup software on Windows.
- The company behind it has shipped releases since 2001, so you are dealing with a long-established vendor.
Cons
- Support runs on email only, so there is no phone or live chat route when a copy fails.
- It runs on Windows only, so a Mac or Linux machine has no client here.
- The category is backup software, so the license covers file protection rather than a wider admin suite.
- The paid plan starts at $19, higher than $0.99 for CLIP STUDIO PAINT and €1.58 for Wondershare.

Scored 8.9 / 10 by ForgeCue.
Who it suits
- Small Windows offices that want to back up files and pay for the tool a single time.
- Cautious buyers who will use the 30-day trial to watch a real restore before committing.
- Shops that want a named counterparty on the invoice, given AJC Systems Ltd is the contracting company.
Who should look elsewhere
- Price-first buyers who can accept a different tool: CLIP STUDIO PAINT starts at $0.99, a lower entry than the AJC Software paid plan.
- Teams on a short evaluation clock: TeamViewer Int runs a 14-day trial, so it fits where a 30-day window is more time than you need.
What you get free
A free version is offered, so you can start without buying anything. The free trial runs 30 days, which is long enough to set up copies, watch a restore and judge the tool before spending anything. Both free routes sit side by side, so a purchase is a choice rather than the only way in.
How it compares on our data
On free trial length AJC Software ranks 3 among 64 brands, a strong placing for evaluation time. On price from it sits at 50 of 82, so the trial is the stronger side of the offer while the paid price is mid-field.
Intro and renewal prices
The model is a free plan, a free trial and a one-time purchase, and the paid plan starts at $19. Because that purchase is one-time, the entry figure does not return as a renewal charge, which is easier to budget than a subscription that steps up later. The free version stays available either way, and the 30-day trial lets you confirm the fit before the paid plan is bought.
The company behind it
AJC Software is sold by AJC Systems Ltd, which is based in the United Kingdom. The company has shipped backup software since 2001, so the vendor is long established rather than new to the category. Support runs on email, so contact goes by email to the company that writes the product.

Frequently asked questions
How much does AJC Software cost, and do I pay again later?+
The paid plan is a one-time purchase starting at $19, and the model is a free plan, a free trial and a one-time buy, so there is no annual subscription to renew. You make a single payment for the license, which suits offices that dislike repeat charges for a tool they expect to keep running.
Is there a free version, and how long does the free trial last?+
Yes, a free version is offered and the free trial runs 30 days, which is one of the longer evaluation windows around. You can start on the free plan, check how the backups behave on your own files, and only look at the paid plan if the free version runs out of room.
Which operating systems does it run on?+
The software runs on Windows, so a Windows machine is the requirement. That suits offices standardised on Windows, but it means a mixed shop with Mac or Linux boxes has no desktop client here and would need a different tool for those machines.
How do I get help if a backup fails?+
Support runs on email, so email is the only listed route for questions and fault reports. For a backup product that is the channel you lean on when a copy will not run, so expect a slower written exchange than a phone line would give you.
Who do I buy from, and where are they based?+
AJC Software is sold by AJC Systems Ltd, based in the United Kingdom, and the company has shipped software since 2001. You are buying from an incorporated company with a stated base, which keeps the contracting party clear on the invoice and on any support correspondence.
What kind of software is this, exactly?+
It sits in the backup category, so the job is copying and protecting files rather than running a whole office suite. If your requirement is file backup on Windows, that is what you are buying, and the free version lets you confirm the fit before any payment.
How does the entry price compare with CLIP STUDIO PAINT and Wondershare?+
The AJC Software paid plan starts at $19, above $0.99 for CLIP STUDIO PAINT and €1.58 for Wondershare. Those names cover different kinds of work, so read the gap as a price difference rather than a quality ranking.
Is a long trial or a short trial better for me?+
The AJC Software trial runs 30 days, while TeamViewer Int offers 14 days. A longer window suits a cautious evaluation of file backups, and a shorter one suits an office that already knows what it needs and wants to move quickly.
