Pros and cons

Pros

  • Hosting plans bundle free ssl, backups and email as standard.
  • Support runs on email, chat and phone, covering both live chat and a phone line.
  • A 20 (up to 100) allowance covers several small properties before a move up.
  • Free plan: yes, so a site can be built and tested before any paid plan.

Cons

  • Free WHOIS privacy: no, so domain privacy is not part of the $10.81 .com price.
  • Data centres sit in Geneva (Switzerland) and Zurich (Switzerland), a narrow footprint for sites with readers far from Switzerland.
  • The CHF 10.91 entry price is an introductory rate covering a 1-month term, so the longer-term figure sits elsewhere.

Who runs it

Infomaniak is run by Infomaniak Network SA, registered in Switzerland and trading since 1,990 to 1,993. Support runs on email, chat and phone, so a phone line and live chat sit behind a Swiss provider that also sells domains and site building. The legal entity behind the brand is named in its legal notice.

How Infomaniak compares

Frequently asked questions

What does Infomaniak cost to start with?+

Web hosting opens at CHF 10.91, and that figure is an introductory rate covering a 1-month term, so it is not the long-term number. Site Creator starts at CHF 1.95, and hosting, domains and the builder are billed separately rather than as a single bundle.

How long is the money-back window?+

Infomaniak gives 30 to change your mind on paid hosting, which matches the 30 most providers in this comparison offer. A free trial is also listed as free trial, so the entry plan can be tested for a month before a longer commitment.

What kinds of hosting are on offer?+

The range covers shared web hosting, managed cloud server and cloud server, so a shared site and a managed cloud server come from the same provider. Site Creator is in that list, so a builder user can keep hosting and pages with a single supplier.

How many websites fit on one plan?+

Hosting plans allow 20 (up to 100) sites, so a small business can keep several properties on a single plan before moving up. Free SSL, backups and email are already in the package at free ssl, backups and email, and a free plan is available, so a test site costs nothing to start.

What do .com domains cost?+

A .com runs $10.81 in the first year, $12.98 at renewal and $12.98 to transfer in, so the first year is the cheapest part. The selection covers 583 endings, and privacy is not free: free WHOIS privacy is a no.

Does Site Creator take a cut of store sales?+

Site Creator, the store builder, charges 0% in transaction fees, matching the 0% across this site, so a sale adds no platform cut. The builder covers site and store, and the Site Creator e-commerce plan is CHF 1.95.

Where are the servers, and how do you reach support?+

Data centres sit in Geneva (Switzerland) and Zurich (Switzerland), so the footprint is Swiss rather than global. Support runs on email, chat and phone, which includes phone as well as email, and hosting carries an uptime guarantee of 99.99%.

Who is Infomaniak built for?+

The stated audience is beginners, small business and enterprise, so a beginner site and a larger business can both find a matching plan, and the builder entry point stays low at CHF 1.95.
