What is .com transfer?
In short
The one-off fee a registrar charges to move an existing .com domain to it, on top of the yearly renewal.
A .com transfer fee is the one-off price a registrar charges to move an existing .com domain you already own to them. You normally pay your old registrar for one more year of registration, and the new registrar then charges this fee to take over. Prices differ by market more than by brand. AlexHost charges €22.50 and Afrihost ZAR 269, while AdriaHost charges RSD 1,919 and Akweno Solucoes AOA 24,900. A transfer often includes a free year, so a modest fee often pays for itself in the renewal that follows.
