What is HIPAA?
In short
HIPAA is the US privacy rule for health information, and hosting that names it signals it will sign the agreements a healthcare business needs.
HIPAA is the US privacy rule that governs protected health information, and hosting under it comes with obligations around access, records and business associate agreements. Providers advertise it in two ways. Convesio lists HIPAA-compliant hosting among the services it builds, alongside managed WordPress hosting and payment processing, and Liquid Web lists both HIPAA and PCI compliant hosting among a wide server range. Keeping goes further and names it directly in its plan tiers, as Essentials, Advanced, HIPAA, which makes it a separate plan rather than a side note. In the US this is the regulation that actually bites for clinics and health SaaS.
