CongoCloud review

The Discover plan starts at $1.99. That figure puts CongoCloud at 63 of 282 on the entry price list, so the number worth checking is the one at renewal rather than the one on the advert.

The Discover plan renews at $2.50, a modest step up from the introductory figure. CongoCloud sits at 21 of 179 on renewal price, further up the list than on entry price, so renewal is the stronger side of the offer.

Hosting plans carry a 30 day money back window, which matches the 30 day median across the plans listed on the site. That gives you room to decide after signing up, and the offer ranks 35 of 275 on this measure.

The range runs from shared web hosting, WordPress hosting and ecommerce hosting. A site with a handful of pages can sit on shared web hosting, while a store or a reseller can move up to ecommerce or reseller hosting, and heavier needs reach VPS and dedicated servers.

Data centres sit in United Kingdom, Germany and United States, so a site serving European or North American visitors has nearby capacity. Uptime is promised at 99.9% on the hosting page, and it is worth reading the terms behind that promise before you rely on it.

Support runs on email, chat and phone, so email is joined by chat and phone for anything urgent, and a help centre covers routine questions. The company behind the service is Nitrohost Networks, so the same organisation handles both support and the contract.

A .com registration costs $12.75 in the first year, close to the €11.61 median on the site, and WHOIS privacy comes free with the registration. The entry Discover plan holds a limited number of domains, while higher plans cover unlimited domains, so check the plan before buying several names.

The features list covers free ssl, backups and email, so certificates, backups and email are part of the package rather than add-ons. Alongside the paid plans, the site lists free plan and free trial, which lets you try the service before you commit to a longer term.
